How long is each workshop?
Each workshop will be approximately 55 minutes long. The mandatory sessions will last 1 hour and 20 minutes. If you do not show up on time or if you leave early, you will not receive credit for attending the workshop.
How do I receive credit for attending a workshop?
During each session, you should fill out the workshop sign-in sheet. Please be sure to write legibly. Your UCInetID* is used to track your participation in workshops, so be sure to include it on the sign-in sheet.

I can't attend all 7 workshops in the Fall. Is it still possible for me to complete the Passport to Leadership?
Yes, you must complete a minimum of 7 workshops, including 3 mandatory sessions by May 20, 2011 in order to be eligible for the Passport to Leadership Certificate. Workshops can not be transferred from one academic year to the next. It is up to you to determine when and which workshops you would like to attend. Please note, certain workshops are offered only once per academic year, and mandatory sessions are offered twice per quarter.
If I attended workshops in previous years, do I have to start over to receive my certificate?
Unfortunately, our database cannot track your attendance across different years- so you will have to start over. There are an average of 2 workshops per week, and each of the three mandatory workshops are facilitated 2x per quarter. Hopefully, it will be very easy to complete the 7 workshop requirement and earn your certificate.
Can I earn more than one certificate in a single year?
No, you can receive only one Passport to Leadership Certificate after completing the required workshops. You are welcome to attend more workshops if you would like to further develop your leadership skills.
Do I have to have a Passport Profile in order to attend a Passport to Leadership workshop?
No, however, in order to receive credit for the workshops you attend, you must sign up online by creating a profile.
What kind of commitment am I making by registering for the program?
Registration for the program is simply for the purpose of tracking the sessions for which you have received credit. It does NOT mean you must complete the Passport to Leadership Certificate, although it is highly encouraged!
I attended a workshop before I registered online, will I still get credit for it?
Yes! But please try to register online as soon as possible!
I forgot how many sessions I have attended, is there a way to find this information?
Yes, you can track your progress in the program by creating a Leadership Profile. Your Leadership Profile will have up to date information on every workshop you have attended. It will also allow you to keep track of workshops you would like to attend in the future.
How often is my workshop attendance updated online?
Your attendance for a workshop will be posted for your viewing online at least 2 weeks after the workshop. If you find that you did not recieve credit after 2 weeks, please contact us at leadership@dos.uci.edu.
How do email reminders for workshops work?
If you see workshops that interest you on the schedule you can request an email reminder for them. Just click the "request reminder" link on the workshop (you must be signed up for Passport and logged in to access this feature). Workshop reminders will be sent five days in advance of the workshop. To cancel a reminder request, simply click "cancel reminder" on the workshop or inside your profile.
Can I invite other UCI students to attend workshops?
You may have friends or other students you are working with through various involvements who could benefit from Passport workshops. If that is the case you can invite them to workshops directly from our site. Just click the "invite a friend" link from the workshop of your choice and you will be taken to a simple form to send an email invitation to as many friends as you like.
