The second seminar in this series will be on Wednesday April 18 th, 2012 11-12pm in the Ring Room at the Cross-Cultural Center and will hosted by Carolyn Spivak.

Carolyn Spivak is the Volunteer Coordinator at the Aids Foundation. She has worked with many different nonprofits in the past and has a lot of experience in service. Currently at the AIDS foundations she helps 1000s of volunteer each year get involved and oriented into service. She also works to develop and coordinate many different community outreach programs to enhance community engagement with the AIDS foundation and raise HIV/AIDS awareness.

Drama 101

Often times, as we work in teams, whether it be within a student organization or among our classmates, conflict can arise. While conflict can come in many forms, it is especially challenging when individuals are at odds with one another and communication and teamwork are compromised.

This workshop is designed to consider different scenarios in which "drama" can occur within a group of individuals operating as a team, and explores the various ways in which the group can work through difficult challenges. Case studies and scenarios will be used in order to engage participants and provide explicit examples of moving through and past conflicting situations.

We will focus on working through various challenges and obstacles associated with leadership including fears around speaking and engagement. Most importantly, we will focus on drawing out your confidence as a leader and the ways in which you can use your voice to inspire and enable others.
